Ingredients
  

For the Meat Mixture
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Use 80/20 for optimal flavor
  • 1 lb Ground Italian Sausage Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Gluten-free works if needed
  • 2 large Eggs Acts as a binder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Fresh onions are also great
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning Substitute with oregano and basil if desired
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
For the Cheesy Filling
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Try provolone for a different twist
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 cup Spinach Optional; replace with other veggies or omit
For Topping
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Homemade sauce elevates flavors

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meat mixture ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cheese filling ingredients until creamy and cohesive.
  4. Flatten the meat mixture into a rectangle, spread cheese filling, and roll tightly, sealing the edges.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. About 10 minutes before it's done, spread marinara sauce over the top and return to the oven.
  7. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
