Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm. Remove from heat and stir in yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with maple syrup, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped bacon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Drizzle with additional maple syrup before serving.
