  • 1 cup finely chopped pistachio or walnuts substitute with almonds if desired
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
For the Cream Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup icing (powdered) sugar
  • 2 cups Cool Whip Topping can swap with whipped cream
For the Pudding Layer
  • 2 packages Jell-O Pistachio Instant Pudding
  • 2 cups cold milk ensure it's cold

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 13x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine finely chopped pistachios or walnuts, softened butter, flour, and sugar until blended.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of the pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until golden, then cool completely.
  5. Beat cream cheese and icing sugar together until smooth, then fold in the Cool Whip.
  6. Spread the cream layer over the cooled nut crust.
  7. Prepare the pudding by whisking together Jell-O Pistachio Instant Pudding and cold milk, then let it thicken.
  8. Spread the pudding over the cream layer and level it off.
  9. Top with remaining Cool Whip and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
  10. Slice and sprinkle with reserved chopped nuts just before serving.
