Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Whisk
  • Cookie scoop

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, brown sugar, pure maple syrup, and maple extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Then, add the beaten egg, continuing to mix until fully incorporated.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined. Gradually add this dry mix to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until a soft dough begins to form.
  3. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough chills, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a light-colored baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and use a cookie scoop to portion out 1.5-ounce balls of dough, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers remain puffy.
  7. While the cookies cool, melt the white chocolate wafers in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  8. Once the cookies are completely cooled, dip the tops in the melted white chocolate or drizzle it over the tops using a fork.
  9. Allow the chocolate to harden before serving, which should take around 30 minutes.
  10. After the chocolate has set, your Chewy Maple Cinnamon Cookies are ready to be enjoyed!
