In a medium saucepan, combine the pitted cherries, lime juice, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the cherries soften, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Once cooled, strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the solids, pressing down on the cherries to extract as much juice as possible.
Add the sparkling water to the cherry-lime mixture in the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cherry limeade over the ice.
Garnish each glass with lime slices and a few whole cherries. Serve immediately.
