  1. Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes. Blend the tofu in a food processor until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vital wheat gluten, garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Fold the blended tofu into the mixed dry ingredients gradually, stirring continuously until a cohesive dough forms.
  4. Shape the dough into a compact loaf and tightly wrap it in aluminum foil.
  5. Prepare a steaming basket over a pot of boiling water. Place the wrapped loaf inside and steam for about 60 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unwrap the vegan ham and place it in a baking dish. Brush with maple syrup mixed with spices. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
