Description
Star-Spangled Brownies are a delicious festive treat perfect for celebrations, featuring a rich chocolate flavor and colorful sprinkles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup red and blue sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the batter.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into squares and top with red and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
Notes
- For a minty twist, add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the batter.
- Substitute half of the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips for a different flavor and visual appeal.
