Description

Star-Spangled Brownies are a delicious festive treat perfect for celebrations, featuring a rich chocolate flavor and colorful sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup red and blue sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the batter.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, cut into squares and top with red and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.

Notes

  • For a minty twist, add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the batter.
  • Substitute half of the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips for a different flavor and visual appeal.
