Deliciously easy Smoky Bacon Smash Burgers topped with garlic aioli.

- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of American cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (for garlic aioli)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (for garlic aioli)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (for garlic aioli)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the garlic aioli. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled bacon, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into loose balls.
- Place the balls on the hot skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each one. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading a generous amount of garlic aioli on the bottom bun, adding the patty, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Place the top bun on and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding pickles or jalapeños to the burgers.
- You can swap out the American cheese for cheddar or pepper jack for a different taste.
- For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
