Description

Delicious shrimp dumplings filled with a savory mixture of shrimp, napa cabbage, and spices, perfect for a warm appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup finely chopped napa cabbage
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 package dumpling wrappers (about 30 wrappers)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Water for sealing dumplings

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, napa cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the shrimp mixture in the center. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
  3. Fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape, pressing the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.
  5. Cook for about 4-6 minutes, or until the dumplings float to the top and are cooked through.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the dumplings and place them on a plate. Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a teaspoon of chili paste to the filling mixture.
  • Try using ground chicken or tofu instead of shrimp for a different protein option.
