Description

Savory Ricotta Meatballs are a delicious and hearty dish made with a blend of ground beef and creamy ricotta cheese, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour the marinara sauce over them.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
  • Add chopped spinach or grated zucchini to the meatball mixture for extra veggies.
