- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour the marinara sauce over them.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
- Add chopped spinach or grated zucchini to the meatball mixture for extra veggies.
