Description
Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delicious treat that combines the creamy goodness of cheesecake with the sweetness of strawberries, all encased in a crispy fried coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on four slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining slices of bread to create sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined.
- Dip each sandwich into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure each sandwich is well covered.
- In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwiches in the oil, frying them in batches if necessary.
- Fry each sandwich for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Dust the fried sandwiches with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture.
- Substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or bananas for different flavors.
