Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a delicious treat that combines the creamy goodness of cheesecake with the sweetness of strawberries, all encased in a crispy fried coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on four slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining slices of bread to create sandwiches.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until well combined.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure each sandwich is well covered.
  5. In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the sandwiches in the oil, frying them in batches if necessary.
  6. Fry each sandwich for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Dust the fried sandwiches with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, add chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or bananas for different flavors.
