Description
Crispy Oven-Baked Cabbage Burgers are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional burgers, perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large green cabbage leaves
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Carefully remove the cabbage leaves and blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and set aside to cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
- Take a blanched cabbage leaf and spoon a portion of the meat mixture onto the center. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it up tightly. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
- Place the cabbage burgers seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the burgers are cooked through and the tops are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground meat with cooked lentils or black beans.
- Add your favorite spices or herbs to the meat mixture for extra flavor, such as cumin or Italian seasoning.
