Description

Crispy Air Fryer Crab Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that combines lump crab meat with cream cheese and spices, all cooked to perfection in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup lump crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, breadcrumbs, green onions, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add the beaten egg to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Using your hands, form the crab mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the crab bites in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
  6. Air fry the crab bites for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Once cooked, remove the crab bites from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce such as tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, or a spicy aioli for an extra layer of flavor.
