Description
Crispy Air Fryer Crab Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that combines lump crab meat with cream cheese and spices, all cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup lump crab meat, drained and flaked
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, breadcrumbs, green onions, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Add the beaten egg to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Using your hands, form the crab mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the crab bites in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
- Air fry the crab bites for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Once cooked, remove the crab bites from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Serve with a dipping sauce such as tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, or a spicy aioli for an extra layer of flavor.
