Description

A refreshing and creamy cucumber salad perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced cucumbers in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to draw out excess moisture. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, white vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and dill. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Add the drained cucumbers and red onion to the bowl. Gently toss until the cucumbers are well coated with the creamy dressing.
  4. Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve chilled as a refreshing side dish.

Notes

  • For a tangier flavor, add an extra tablespoon of vinegar or a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter version with added protein.
