1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
4 cups cold water
1 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring
Ice cubes
Cotton candy (for garnish)
Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature to create a simple syrup.
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup. Stir well to mix.
Add 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir until well combined.
Add the cotton candy flavoring to the lemonade mixture and stir gently to incorporate.
Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the cotton candy lemonade over the ice, and garnish with a fluffy piece of cotton candy and a lemon slice.
Notes
For a fizzy version, substitute half of the cold water with lemon-lime soda or club soda.
