Description
Classic Blondies are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that combines the rich flavors of brown sugar and butter with the sweetness of chocolate chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (or nuts, if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (or nuts, if using) until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try browning the butter before mixing it with the sugars. This adds a nutty taste to the blondies.
- Experiment with mix-ins such as dried fruit, coconut flakes, or different types of chocolate chips to customize your blondies.
