Description

A flavorful and zesty Chili Lime Flank Steak recipe that is perfect for grilling enthusiasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.
  2. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the marinade.
  5. Grill the flank steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the marinade.
  • Serve with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
