Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 810 limes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups sparkling water
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Fresh cherries, for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the pitted cherries, lime juice, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the cherries soften, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Once cooled, strain the cherry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the solids, pressing down on the cherries to extract as much juice as possible.
  3. Add the sparkling water to the cherry-lime mixture in the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
  4. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cherry limeade over the ice.
  5. Garnish each glass with lime slices and a few whole cherries. Serve immediately.
