Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
  3. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour in the milk and melted butter, and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until smooth.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Cut the dough into strips using a pizza cutter or knife, but do not separate them.
  8. Brush the tops with additional melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, if using.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before pulling apart and serving.
