Description
A simple and delicious Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole that combines ground beef, cheese, and tater tots for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
- 1/4 cup dill pickles, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, whisking until smooth. Add the cooked beef mixture and half of the cheddar cheese, stirring until well combined.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer the frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the tater tots. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- If desired, top with chopped dill pickles before serving. Serve with ketchup on the side.
Notes
- For a healthier twist, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Add your favorite vegetables, such as bell peppers or mushrooms, to the beef mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
