Description

Cajun Seafood Stuffed Crab is a delicious dish featuring crab meat mixed with flavorful ingredients and baked in crab shells.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound crab meat, picked over for shells
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 large crab shells (or ramekins for baking)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, sautéed vegetables, mayonnaise, green onions, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, parsley, and lemon juice. Mix gently until well combined.
  6. Stuff the crab shells with the mixture, pressing down slightly to pack it in.
  7. Place the stuffed crab shells on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the stuffing is heated through.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some shredded cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, into the stuffing.
  • You can also substitute the crab meat with shrimp or a combination of seafood for a different twist.
