Scale
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10-ounce) package refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface and pinch the seams together to create a rectangle.
- Spread the broccoli and cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.
- Slice the log into 1-inch thick pinwheels and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
- Try using different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for a unique flavor twist.
