Description
A quick and savory beef and pepper rice bowl that combines ground beef, colorful bell peppers, and rice for a delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup bell peppers, diced (mix of red, green, and yellow)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the diced bell peppers, soy sauce, black pepper, paprika, salt, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the peppers are tender.
- Serve the beef and pepper mixture over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with sliced green onions.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
- Add a variety of vegetables such as broccoli, snap peas, or carrots for extra nutrition and color.
