Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Beef and Pepper Rice Bowl that combines ground beef with colorful bell peppers served over rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the diced red and green bell peppers, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, paprika, and salt. Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the peppers are tender.
- Serve the beef and pepper mixture over the cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños when cooking the beef.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, or use tofu for a vegetarian version.
